Rachel Harmann
Beef Farmer & Agriculture Advocate

Agriculture is not just a job; it's a calling driven by a love for the land, a dedication to sustainability, and an unwavering passion for feeding the world.

Welcome to my corner of the internet, where my passion for agriculture runs deep and our connection to the land is as strong as the waves crashing on the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan. I'm thrilled to have you here, and I can't wait to share our journey with you.

About Me

From the very beginning, agriculture has been more than just a vocation to me; it's been a lifelong love affair. Some of my most cherished memories and dearest friendships were formed through my involvement in 4-H and showing livestock. Those experiences taught me life lessons and ignited a fire within me to dedicate my life to this field.

With that determination, I set off to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, where I pursued my bachelor's degree in Agricultural Education. Little did I know that this journey would lead me not only to a diploma but also to something even more precious—a fiance, my partner in both life and farming.

Now, nestled in the picturesque town of Algoma, WI, our family tends to beef cattle on the very land that stretches along Lake Michigan. Lakeshore Land & Livestock isn't just a farm; it's a dream realized, a testament to our commitment to stewardship and a legacy we plan to pass down through generations.

At the heart of our vision is the deep respect we hold for the land and animals that God has entrusted us with. We believe in the harmony between nature and agriculture, and we strive to embrace sustainable practices to ensure our farm remains a vibrant and nurturing environment for both livestock and wildlife.

Beyond the farm gates, I am heavily involved in various organizations and community initiatives that advocate for the betterment of agriculture. Serving as Vice President on the Door County Farm Bureau Board of Directors and being the Chairman of the Legislative Committee for the Wisconsin Cattlemen's Association have provided me with opportunities to contribute to meaningful change in our industry.

Through my affiliation with the American Farm Bureau's Partners in Advocacy Leadership program, the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Leadership Institute, and the Wisconsin Beef Ambassadors, I've been blessed to engage with brilliant minds from across the country, continuously broadening my perspective and honing my leadership skills.

This website is a celebration of our life on the farm, our dedication to agriculture, and the network of incredible individuals we've encountered along the way. Whether you're a fellow farmer, an agriculture enthusiast, or someone curious about sustainable practices and life on the shores of Lake Michigan, I hope you find inspiration and insight within these pages.
